SHOUT OUT NEW YORK ...THE END, FINALE.

We've been gone for more than a minute, but don't want to get your hopes up. We don't plan on coming back. So just get that dumb as shit idea out of your head. I just wanted to leave you all an actual farewell post, not something dated. Since the last post, I've been hella buzy with life, music, and a new company. Long story short, I've missed you guys, and the notion of a Wale album being my last post was hanging over my head and really fucking haunted me. Like a dream that you keep having over and over again where you cant figure out how you got a college degree when you skipped that one class the entire semester. The love for the music has taken a sidecar to the love of having more free time to do other cool shit. If you know me personally you already know I'm still working on the cool shit. Good home cooking takes time and when the planets finally align the light will be bright enough for you all to see. Especially if you aren't looking for it. As you wait for that apocalypse to happen you can still follow the workflow on Tumblr, Soundcloud, Twitter, Instagram, and our new website. ShoutOutNewYork. Thank you all again for the continued support and we look forward to seeing you in our clothing and using our products. 'Orvwaaaaaa.

AFTER TAUGHTS

Wale_X_DJ_Clark_Kent-Folarin-2012-UC

I normally wouldn't post Wale, but I have to say that I am impressed by the beat selection on this album. It could be that all of the sudden he knows what he is doing, or that his uncle, DJ Clark Kent is helping along the way. Not a big MMG fan, but some of Wale's stuff is aight. Download it, give it a run, and let me know what ya think.

Torae-Black_Christmas-EP-2012-UC

Torae dropped this recently and I think it's pretty dope. A definite must have for any Torae fan or underground music collector. He dabbles and toys with what the holidays were like for him growing up all wrapped up in tissue paper and for free. It becomes a funny parallel as you being to remember things that everyone had goin on years back.

2. Waiting On Christmas Day (feat. Bluu Suede) (prod by E. Jones)
3. Stay (feat. Wes) (prod by Khrysis)

Curren$y-3_Piece_Set_(A_Closed_Session)-2012-UC

Curren$y seems to be in the Xmas spirit today and drops his latest mixtape.  "3 Piece set" refers to the 3 heaters included in this EP. Real ill production and tight rhymes to match. You win some, and you win some.

Joey_Bada$$_X_Pro-Era-Peep_The_APROcalapse-2012-UC

I can't front, I'm still coming around to this dude. Some of his stuff is hot and some of it is just hit or miss for me. Either way, another free stocking stuffa. He seems to be doing all the right things... working with the right people, hopping on the right beats, and even putting dollar $igns in his name. Smart to do a cover that is a .gif as well. Whatever the reason enjoy bumping his newest of Joey this season. On a sad note... Capital Steez, Joey's friend and rhyme partner took his own life today at 19. I wish it was a joke. Read more about it here.

HAPPY BELATED HOLIDAZE

The_Vinylcologist-All_The_Fixins_Vol._5-2012-UC

The annual mixtape, which usually features a nice mix of my favorite tracks of the year and some unheard exclusives. This isn't one of those mixtapes that you find on Datpiff, or DJBooth amongst the flood of wackness and watered down junk. This is a REAL mixtape, you know, like the ones no one makes anymore. Yeah, well I still do what I've been doing for years. I make these not only for myself and my fans and true followers, but also to pay homage to the great music that has or hasn't dropped. The delay on this was inevitable due to edits and things that were beyond my control. If you have been following the series, you know ATF usually drops on Thanksgiving. Special thanks to De La Soul for comin thru and hooking it up for me. Much more to come in 2013. Stay tuned and don't get caught slippin.

1. Plug One and Plug Two - Intro
2. Large Professor - Light Years
3. Bumpy Knuckles and DJ Premier - More Levels
4. Showbiz and AG - Trapped
5. Evitan - What's The Happs??
6. Moka Only - Sleepin' Dogs
7. Big Shug - I'm 4 Eva feat Singapore Kane
8. Craig G. - Oh Oh Oh Its...
9. Blaq Poet - No Joke
10. Quakers - Fritta Happier feat. Guilty Simpson and MED
11. Roc Marciano - 76
12. Saigon - Not Like Them feat. Styles P.
13. Vast Aire - Bongs Full
14. MHz - Additionary feat. Ill Bill and Slaine

Notorious_BIG-Summer_Jam_Meltdown-199?-UC

Here is a hilarious video that surfaced of BIG tossing a bottle at Big Kap for fuckin up his set more than a few times. Lil Cease catches a case of the giggles n shit too. I'd have to do the same thing if that shit was me.

Notorious_BIG-Awards_Party_(03.09.97)-UC

While we are looking at rare videos... this video was just released and was recorded hours before Biggie's death. A ton of cameos and shout outs in this video. It seemed like everyone was in Vegas that weekend.

Arsonists-Freestyle_(Live_at_Fatbeats)-2000-UC

Yet another rare video I came across in my recent travels. Stillwell Q kills this shit, shouts to the whole ASF crew. Talks of a reunion album in the works are fluttering. I also know for a fact that there is a slew of unreleased OG Arsonist's tracks from when the recorded "As The World Burns". This was one of the the things we spoke about when I kicked it with Q a few months back. Props to RSC as well.

Till the next time. Merry Chrismahanaqwaznika.

ZOO LOO NATION

The classic VHS mixtape released by Zoo York skateboard company back in '97. This has recently been brought up to today's standards. Obviously that does not mean BlueRay, but the video definitely is clearer and looks much better than the OG copy. This was the first time many of us true hip hop fans got to see any footage of those great freestyles from the Stretch and Bob show at KCR. If you were lucky enough to have been a skateboarder, or happen to know one back then, you probably watched this video. If not, then sit back and enjoy some tricks and verses that Lil' Wayne still can't fuck with. This set the precedent for some of the newer styles of recording skateboarding videos, and was followed by everyone from Lance Mountain (411VM) to Tony Hawk (Birdhouse's - The End).

THE B TO THE A N SKI

Banksy's "B Movie" for those who have not yet seen it. This was actually an unreleased bonus for "Exit Thru the Gift Shop" around the time it dropped.
