The latest flick from Meyhem. During SXSW, the hulking Queens rapper assembled a big pile of friends and recorded the bulk of his excellent Respect The Fly Shit mixtape. The hazy-but-intense “Fingerless Driving Gloves” is one of that tape’s few songs that doesn’t feature a small battalion of guest-rappers. And in its brand-new video, Lauren spends time glowering on New York restaurants and eating expensive-looking lunches alone at sidewalk cafes, which seem to connotate a lonely existence. Steven “Scarboro” Velasque directs.

Fraud gives us all some more insight into how he makes his beats, who he likes to work with, and how it all started for him. After recreating the classic Vast Aire sound, and dabbling with other projects, he caught a big break when Flex asked French for an anthem for Summer Jam. As they say, the rest is history. I sure hope that is just a wig he wears for interviews.

Action_Bronson_X_Party_Supplies-Blue_Chips-2012-UC

New Action and Party Supplies presented by Complex Mag and Reebok. Most of these songs you probably already heard or have if you are a true Bronson fan. Others are exclusive and it is a cool listen. One thing I don't like is that people are claiming that Party Supplies is the next great producer to come out of NYC. If that was the case he wouldn't be using all the same old drum loops that have been overused in hip hop already. Anyone can take the impeach beat or the cracker breaks, loop it and put a few sounds over it. When you get a chance to work with some of the best in the game you should take into consideration that you are in a position that a ton of producers would love to be in. If Danny Brown never came out would anyone know who he was? Everyone was flipping out over the "hookers at the point" track, claiming it was a great track, even Dante Ross, I played it once and hated it, for me, no replay value whatsoever with that song. I know Party Supplies has other talents, because the other half of this record is just that, original digs, and ideas. For all I know Bronson himself could've asked Supplies to flip up some of the samples he picked. It's a ok listen like I said, and I know I'm being blunt, but I see my argument as relevant. Either way, support and enjoy the mixtape, lord knows Bronson doesn't need anymore help promoting, but I am a huge supporter of his music, smart crew, and whatever else he has going on, hence my post. Remember, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I will say what I feel because I'm not as fake as half these other fucks on blogs and sites just looking for a handout . That's why you continue to come back and check this blog, because you know it's going to be a straight and honest opinion regardless if you are my friend or not. No frills. For me Action Bronson is becoming exactly what I wished he wouldn't... another artist that is sacrificing quality for quantity and becoming played out just like everything else in hip hop culture. Bronsolino has 3 other albums in the works including 2 already completed. Here is what is due out soon from Action in 2012...

The Doc tackles an array of subjects from, Underground vs. Mainstream, Definition of hip hop, and what it means to different people. CLAWSUIT PENDING

How funny is it that it really didn't take long for someone to jack one of my ideas and try to ride it to the bank. Check out this cornball group, Redlight King's rock version of my joint Under The Influence. I dropped this back in May of last year and one of two things is possible: 1. They could have been working on this for a while and just happened to put it out. or 2. Some record exect heard it and jacked the idea. Either way, you know where you heard it first, and if it was my idea, then I guess then that would be one more reinforcement that I am musically ahead of my time.

ALL GASSED UP

Don't get excited, I would never leak my man Yak's album without his permission. What I do have though is another dope track that found it's way out of hiding. I'm not sure if this is actually going to be released on his album, or if this is for something else. Personally, the titile track Gas Galaxy has been my favorite out of what has been leaking. If you were current with the blog you would have downloaded it when I posted it a while back. The link my be dead now though. I'm not going all the back to check.

If you aren't familiar with X-Clan then you really shouldn't be reading this blog my friend. Their first album, Xodus was bumping out of a lot of white boyz trunks back in the day including mine. I always loved and admired their music for a few reasons, they have great concepts, ill production, and they have powerful lyrics.
