Meyhem Lauren drops "Respect The Fly Shit" entirely produced by Harry Fraud and Tommy MAS. With these guys you know it's always dope ass original samples, tight lyrics, and food references. I don't know about you, but i always feel like chefing up some gourmet shit after listening to these guys.
Kwamizzle of Trusic fam follows up his Full Mental Alchemy with this dope mixtape flip with GM. The 518 has a load of talented artists here, some just do it way better than others. Go grab FMA from DunDemWorld if you like this release.
Ricky Shabazz is back with his second installment. The first release was received so well, him and the Boom Bap Boys decided to have another run at it. The CD features Blacastan, Apathy, Pacewon, and Homeboy Sandman just to name a few. He also tapped a few unknown producers, as well as some up and coming ones. Maybe if I'm lucky he will give me a shot on FS3.
Mello Music Group is constantly keeping their name and artists in the loop. Their latest release is the instrumental version of Gensu Dean's 'Lo-fi Fingahz'record. For emcees this is a great record to just kick back and jot some scripts to, and to all you producers that are looking to catch some dope unreleased drums, here's your ticket to the promise land.
For the past few years I've seen Math Hoffa's videos and name popping up all over the place. Some of you know him for taking out suckas in battles held all over the country and in NYC. I recently caught up with Math at the Immortal Technique show that just happened a few weeks back. He was gracious enough to take the compliments and criticisms everyone felt like they needed to tell him, and also give me a few cds and a drop. A real humble guy that was on his grind hard like the rest of us. For some time now he has been rolling with the Stronghold camp and earning stripes among people like Pumpkinhead (now known as just PH) and Poison Pen. I peeped this CD and was amazed at how comical and non-battle like his style was for this release. Give this guy a shot and you will not be let down. ACMD3, which is the follow up to this disc, is available VIA Itunes here.
DUSTY BUT DIGITAL NOTE: I apologize for keeping you waiting for new posts, as you know I've been very busy making countless mixes and teaming up with various websites VIA UpNorthTrips. I also have another little one on the way, which is making it hard to juggle a lot of things. I appreciate all of you and your patience. That's word to Axl Rose. Please stay tuned to both sites and my twitter account @unitedcrates to catch all the new info and releases. I will always continue to post on DBD for the true fans of the blog who have been with me for a while now. More venting, recipes and the good stuff after this baby is born and I get some time back. Until the next post on any one of the sites, enjoy these great releases.
Several months ago my friends B+ and EC hit me up about doing a mixtape consisting of Japanese records. B, E and myself had all been on ridiculous digging missions together before and they had known that I had lost my mind in japan a couple times copping Japanese joints… so this idea made perfect sense… this mix contains a lot of tv and movie soundtracks and scores, studio background music, anime soundtracks, funk, pop, rock & soul with the common thread being dope funky music! I hope u enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed putting this together!
The producer behind The Athletic Mic League brings us his new video, which is a look behind the scenes. Hailing from Michigan, 14KT has been making noise for some time now. I still have some old promo wax from my college days kickin around here that he produced. This is taken from his new record "A Friendly Game Of KT", which has some serious tracks on there. He will be someone to look out for in the coming months.
Sha Stimuli drops another installment of his Real Tape Series. This would be #5. I'm not a huge fan of Sha, but he has his moments and you have to respect what this guy is doing to build his brand. It's one of the better in the series that I have heard. A few industry instrumentals mixed with original production for this one.

Sev_Statik_X_Goldtooth-Say_Peace_(Live at Valentine's_6.8.2012)-UC
Here's a video I just stumbled across of the homie Sev and his band Goldtooth rocking the Say Peace joint I produced for him live. I always love to see stuff like this and see people's reactions to the music I produce. As for seeing it live, that's a whole other element everyone should have the chance to enjoy. Goldtooth kills this song whenever they play it, and Sev has been coming correct for years.
Awar hits us with his second joint from ALC. By the sound of this beat, you can tell The Chemist still has his touch. I remember talking to Awar during a show a few years ago and he was gearing up for some of these releases back then. I love that he waited for the perfect time to drop it. Timing is everything in this day and age. Salute man.
Some spliced studio footage from late '89 around the time Ice Cube left. They were finishing up another one of the albums in my top 10...EFIL4ZAGGIN.The name of the new album had been revealed in "Kamurshol" from N.W.A's previous release 100 Miles and Runnin', but only by playing a vinyl copy backwards could the otherwise unintelligible sound be deciphered as "niggaz for life". Since the album contained the word "Nigga" in it, on some publications it had to be edited out as Straight Out of Compton 2. The album went on to hit #1 on the Billboard 200 on 1991.
9th Wonder comes thru with his latest instrumental project that features unreleased beats from people he has worked with over the years as well as some unheard tracks. It seems like this is becoming some sort of trend from producers of all walks. Release instrumentals before a project is coming out and that helps put the bug in the ear. Whatever the reason, we can all just hope for more of our favorite producers to start doing the same thing. You can never have too many instrumentals from skilled producers. I just wish these guys wouldn't be so lazy and at least master the levels tho.
I was just having a convo this past Thursday with my homie and a fellow DJ about Clams, and how funny it is to see some of these new producers names. 1st it was Party Supplies, now we see Clams, Willy Whips, and House Shoes. I'm still waiting on projects for the artist's that tried this approach, but failed when they chose their name. New heat coming soon from Lobster Rang Goon, Picnic Basket, Cut-Off Gloves, Knee Socks, and Kitchen Aid. Till those drop you can have this, which features previously unreleased joints from A$AP Rocky, Lana Del Rey, Mac Miller and The Weeknd.
